Translating and Writing

I use the following source languages and target languages:

• Source languages: English, Dutch, and Esperanto.
• Target languages: Dutch and Esperanto.

I mostly translate manuals, software, websites, and marketing texts for BT Ignite, Adobe, BT Ignite, Canon, Cargill, Cognos, Dell, ePresence, Ericsson, Fluke, Gateway, Google, Honda, HP, Intel, JVC, Kodak, LG, McAfee, Microsoft, Navteq, Nokia, Siemens, Sokkia, Sony, Toshiba, and others. I work with localisation companies like SDL International and WordHouse. Trados' Workbench is my main translation tool.

I am also well seasoned in writing and translating texts of a linguistic, legal, economic, and political nature.

My English is fairly good. But that's not enough for producing high quality texts! That is the reason why I won't offer translations and texts in English. I believe that professional translators should master their target languages as their own. English is my main working language, but I deliver only texts in Dutch and Esperanto.

Some experiences:

• I hold a university degree in Public Administration (M.A. level).
• I write articles for a Dutch business to business magazine.
• I have experience editing and writing for books, magazines, and text television.
• I have ample experience in the field of Esperanto education: teaching, examining.
• I co-authored a sizeable Esperanto grammar (in Dutch).
• I have translated a book on Islam from English into Esperanto.
• I translate songs for several artists.
